I guess I'm price-sensitive. When I wanted a modern iPod, I opted for the Nano because it could fit in my pocket and travel everywhere with me, but also because it was significantly cheaper than the fancy new iPod Touch and iPhone.
Apple's selling refurbished iPod Touch machines now, and the discounts are worthwhile: the 8GB model for $200, 16GB model for $300 -- with free (but slooooow) shipping.
The price cut, along with David Pogue's frothing about the App Store, pushed me over the brink. And as if that isn't enough, it almost seems as though Apple *wants* us to jailbreak the thing, because it's trivially simple:
That's my first stop after receiving my new toy, because it's the only way to get ssh support or the NES emulator on the device. Then I'm going to download the "legit" software like "More Cowbell!" and Super Monkey Ball.
